Double Mustard–Marinated Chicken Drumsticks
Because two mustards are better than one.

Two kinds of mustard and a splash of apple juice lend punchy, finger-licking flavor to this delicious, budget-friendly meal. We won't be surprised if it becomes a regular on your grill season rotation.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup
whole-grain mustard
- 1/4 cup
Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup
apple juice
- 2 Tbsp.
white wine vinegar
- 1 Tbsp.
olive oil
Pepper

medium yellow onion, sliced into 1/2-inch-thick rounds
- 1
medium red onion, sliced into 1/2-inch-thick rounds
- 12
small drumsticks (about 21/2 pounds)
Directions
- Step 1In glass measuring cup, whisk together mustards, apple juice, vinegar, oil and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Divide onions, chicken, and mustard marinade between 2 large resealable bags. Refrigerate at least 3 hours, up to 6 hours.
- Step 2Heat grill to medium-low. Remove chicken and onions from marinade (discard marinade). Grill chicken, covered, turning occasionally, until cooked through, 30 to 40 minutes.
- Step 3When chicken has 20 minutes left to cook, grill onions, turning occasionally, until tender and slightly charred, 15 to 20 minutes. Transfer chicken and onions to platter. Serve warm or at room temperature.
