MagGo 3-in-1 Charging Station

Pros

  • Foldable design
  • Two available colors

Cons

  • Short charging cable

This wireless charging station offers a seamless setup and the convenience of charging your phone, headphones and smart watch simultaneously.

While its slightly larger size may take up more desk space, it’s far from cumbersome and compensates with quick charging capabilities. Apple Watch users will love this charger as it powers a Series 9 watch to 47% in just 30 minutes! Smart phone users will need a MagSafe compatible phone or case for the magnetic connection to work properly.

The MagGo is available in black and white and folds down to the size of a deck of cards, so you can easily transport it in your briefcase or backpack. Some testers found the wall charging cable to be a bit short, which may limit placement options, but overall, it’s a fantastic solution for decluttering your charging routine.

Twelve South HiRise 3

HiRise 3

Pros

  • Dual phone charger
  • Multiple viewing angles

Cons

  • Not compatible with all headphones

The HiRise 3 has an adjustable magnetic stand that allows you to tilt your phone to the perfect viewing angle while keeping it securely in place. Like the others, it’s designed to simultaneously charge an Apple Watch, headphones and phone, and even accommodates a second phone on the mat if needed, which makes it extremely useful for families and shared desk spaces.

This charger does require a MagSafe-compatible case for the magnetic stand to work, and it's only designed to charge magnetic earbud case headphones. The HiRise is a high-quality solution for simplifying your setup, combining convenience and performance in a sleek package that look great on your home office desk or nightstand.

Belkin BoostCharge PRO 3-in-1

BoostCharge PRO 3-in-1

Pros

  • Can charge wireless earbuds (not just Airpods)
  • Sleek profile

Cons

  • Fixed phone angle

The stylish BoostCharge is a standout addition to any workspace. It can charge your phone, earbuds and watch all at once. It's the only charger we've tested that includes a wall plug — not just a cable — making setup straightforward and convenient.

A highlight for some reviewers that was enough to make the BoostCharge their primary charger for work is its ability to charge other wireless earbuds, not just AirPods. For gamers and audiophiles this is a must-have feature.

The upright design makes it easy to use your phone while it charges, but the fixed charging angle prevents any adjustability. Reviewers also noticed that the headphone charger tended to get really warm while charging. These minor drawbacks shouldn't keep you from investing in this sharp-looking charging station.

Best Portable Charger

Baseus MagSafe Portable Charger

MagSafe Portable Charger

Pros

  • Auto charge feature
  • Pass through charging

Cons

  • Slightly larger form factor

The benefits of wireless charging really shine when you can spend the day truly untethered from an AC power source.

With the Baseus wireless portable charger, you can go anywhere knowing you’ve got a charger in your pocket. Its lightweight build attaches firmly to your phone via MagSafe connection and can charge wirelessly or wired — with the latter being a bit faster. In fact, the 20W USB-C port allows you to fast charge your iPhone 15 Pro to 50% in just 30 minutes. Another benefit is that it supports pass-through charging, so you can charge your phone and the battery pack at the same time with a single USB-C cable.

A common complaint among wireless chargers is that they tend to heat devices more than usual, and the same can be said for the Baseus charger. It does add a bit of heft to your phone, but testers found it a nominal issue once they became used to it. It's well worth the tradeoff for longer battery life.

Best Charging Pad

Belkin BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Fast Wireless Charging Pad

BoostCharge Pro 2-in-1 Fast Wireless Charging Pad

Pros

  • Slim profile
  • 2-1 charging abilities

Cons

  • No additional wired charging options

You probably won't notice this charging pad unless it's got a phone laying on it. It lays flat on your desk and wirelessly charges your MagSafe-enabled phone as well as earbud case.

It’s the perfect charger to live on your nightstand or next to your entry door that will top off your devices whenever you put them down. The BoostCharge is hardly noticeable; a tester remarked, “I honestly like having this on my desk and appreciate having a designated spot to put my earbuds and phone that won't add clutter.”

The slim charger also makes a great travel companion as it slides easily into your backpack or carry-on, and negates the need to bring multiple chargers. The pad itself doesn’t hold a charge, so it does need to be plugged into the wall while charging, which is a detail that a tester found a bit confusing.

Best Low-Profile Stand

Anker MagGo Charger Stand

MagGo Charger Stand

Pros

  • Multiple viewing options
  • Slim profile

Cons

  • No plug included

The MagGo is designed for those who want an unobtrusive 2-in-1 wireless charger, but enjoy a proper viewing angle instead of laying the phone flat to charge. With a 45º vertical rotation and a 360º horizontal rotation, you can watch your favorite game or YouTuber in whichever viewing mode you desire.

You’ll need to provide your own USB-C wall plug and although testers found the phone magnet strong, one tester mentioned they had difficulty charging their Airpods, but the unit worked fine with other magnetic charging earbuds.

Best Mini Portable Charger

InfinaCore M3: Mini Battery Pack

On Sale
M3: Mini Battery Pack

Pros

  • Small size
  • Strong magnetic connection

Cons

  • No charging cable or plug

At 5.9 ounces, the Mag 3 wireless charger is among the lightest of all portable chargers. It measures only .42 inches thick, so you’ll hardly notice it when attached to your phone.

Testers marveled at the strength of the magnet and “tried shaking it off, but it stuck on.” The tradeoff in size is the smaller capacity as the Mag 3 is rated at 5000 mAh compared to the 6000 mAh and 10000 mAh Baseus portable chargers. InfinaCore claims it can still charge up to 90% on an iPhone 15 Pro or 70% on an iPhone 15 Pro Max in just two hours.

The main drawback is this charger does not include a cord or plug of any type, so you’ll need to use your own. This seems like a strange oversight considering the price point of this charger.

How we test the best wireless chargers

double line break

In our latest round of wireless charger testing, we evaluated seven of the most popular and newly released models currently available. Our testing combined Lab analysis and real-world consumer use to assess both performance and usability.

In the Lab, we examined each wireless charger’s build quality, included cables or accessories, and initial power draw when connected to a compatible device. We measured charging speeds across various devices, including smartphones and earbuds, to determine consistency and efficiency. Using specialized equipment, we evaluated power output and compared it against manufacturer claims to check reliability. Chargers designed for multi-device use were tested with a phone, smartwatch and earbuds simultaneously to ensure performance under load.

Consumer testers used the chargers over two weeks in everyday settings, focusing on factors like ease of device alignment, charging reliability and overall convenience. Testers also evaluated portability for chargers marketed as travel-friendly, noting how easy they were to pack and use on the go. To get hands-on experience, testers personally used each charger, testing for comfort, practicality and any quirks in real-world conditions.

What to look for when shopping

double line break

✔️ Charging rate: The typical wireless charging rate for phones for a plug-in wireless charger is 15W and for chargers with a wired option you can expect a bit faster charge at 20W. No cord convenience comes at a price, so if charging speed is a top priority, you'll probably want to stick with a wired charging plug.

✔️ Capacity: The capacity of a portable wireless battery, measured in milliampere-hours (mAh), determines how many charges it can deliver before needing to be recharged itself. For phones and smaller devices, a capacity of 5,000 to 10,000 mAh is typically sufficient. For larger electronics like laptops, aim for 20,000 mAh or more. Keep in mind that higher capacity portable chargers are bulkier and heavier, making them less practical for everyday phone use.

✔️ Size: Wireless chargers come in a range of sizes, from full-featured standing models to portable units that snap to the back of your phone. Think about how and where you’ll use and carry your charger—smaller models fit neatly into a pocket, while larger ones are better suited for your home or desktop.

✔️ Weight: Similarly to size, weight is another concern when it comes to wireless chargers, particularly portable chargers. Some people prefer a standing charger that is a bit heavier for the added stability, while others want one that is light and slim. Among portable units we favor chargers that are lighter or that can sit comfortably in a pocket.

✔️ Included cables and wireless charging: Don't expect all wireless chargers to include cables or charging plugs. We discovered a few without, so make sure you read the product description before buying. If they've got it, that's one less thing to buy.
