As seen on Instagram, subway ads and everywhere in between, Brooklinen is a startup company that has exploded in popularity for its super-soft sheets. The brand originally launched with a few sheet styles and has expanded to offer comforters, pillows, robes, towels and even loungewear. But the brand isn't cheap, so we set out to test if Brooklinen could live up to the hype.
As a product analyst for the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab, I have tested a lot of sheets. To be exact, 107. In the Lab, I evaluate fabric strength, pilling resistance, wrinkle resistance and shrinkage after laundering. I also try a variety of different sheet sets at home, including Brooklinen's most popular sheets.
I can confirm: Brooklinen sheets are a worthy investment. Brooklinen sheets stood out for their excellent in-Lab performance — and a genius design: The short and long sides of the fitted sheet are labeled, so it’s never been easier to make your bed.

Brooklinen Luxe Sateen Sheets Review
The Brooklinen best-seller Luxe Sateen sheet set is a top performer in our Lab testing with rave reviews in real-world use. In fact, it earned the Good Housekeeping Seal, meaning we stand behind it with our limited warranty. When I first put these sheets on my bed, I was immediately impressed with the feel. Some sateen sheets can feel too silky to me, but these had the perfect balance of soft and smooth without feeling like a slip-n-slide. Testers agreed.
"Sometimes sheets can be too heavy or scratchy, but these were nice and smooth and I felt comfortable being under the top sheet," reported one tester. Another added, "I like that the sheets feel very soft to the touch." In Lab tests, the material proved to be strong and showed minimal pilling. My only complaint was that the fitted sheet sometimes shifted and came off the corner of my mattress. This sheet set is featured as our top overall pick in our best sheets roundup — a high honor!
Who should try Brooklinen Luxe Sateen Sheets:
✔️ Fans of buttery smooth and soft bedding. These sheets have a luxuriously smooth texture with a bit of a shiny finish without feeling too slick.
✔️ Trend lovers. This style is the brand's best-selling sheet set, so if you want in on the Brooklinen trend, this is the sheet set for you.
Take note:
✔️ The silky feel of sateen can sometimes feel sweaty to hot sleepers. We recommend going with a percale weave or a linen fabric if you are a sweaty sleeper.
Brooklinen Classic Percale Sheets Review
This sheet set has over 13,000 rave reviews online for being crisp and breathable and it is one of my favorite sheets, but the Classic Percale sheet set did not perform as highly as other Brooklinen styles in our Lab tests. This set had average fabric strength, meaning the material isn't as durable as other tested styles. In abrasion Lab tests, this 100% cotton 270 thread count fabric experienced nearly no pilling but did shrink a bit in the wash.
I regularly reach for my Brooklinen percale sheets because of the fabric's crisp, breathable feel that's still substantial. "They’re lightweight, just the right amount of crisp and very airy," said one tester. "They are crisp without feeling rough and lightweight without feeling cheap or papery. I love sleeping on these sheets year-round."
Who should try Brooklinen Classic Percale Sheets:
✔️ Lightweight sheet lovers. The percale weave allows great airflow for a breathable and crisp feel with a matte finish.
✔️ Sweaty sleepers. The breathable weave is ideal for hot sleepers as the air can flow freely.
Take note:
✔️ These sheets weren't as strong as other percale sets, so if you have pets or children who play on your bed, these sheets aren't as sturdy against rough use.
Brooklinen Washed Linen Sheets Review
Very durable in our Lab evaluations, these linen sheets have excellent fabric strength and saw minimal pilling and nearly zero shrinkage. However, testers rated the softness lower compared to other linen styles on the market. Testers raved about how airy these sheets felt, with one tester saying, "These are the best sheets I have ever slept on," loving the "very breathable material." The fabric was a bit wrinkly after washing, which is to be expected with linen sheets. Hot sleepers, these are the Brooklinen sheets for you!
Who should try Brooklinen Washed Linen Sheets:
✔️ Hot sleepers who appreciate a natural feel. Linen is a popular texture for those who don't want a plush feel but prefer a natural material that's airy.
✔️ Style setters. Linen bedding has an effortlessly chic look on a bed that's very on-trend right now.
Take note:
✔️ Overall, these linen sheets received lower softness scores, so if you like super soft and smooth sheets, these aren't the right fit for you.
✔️ Linen sheets tend to be more wrinkly than 100% cotton sheets.
Brooklinen Organic Cotton Sheets Review
These sheets are made with 100% long-staple organic cotton that's Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified, meaning the manufacturing process adheres to strict environmental and social standards. Testers, especially hot sleepers, appreciated the sheets' breathable and crisp feel which allows ample airflow. "I never felt hot or sweaty while sleeping on them — instead my body temperature was perfect," reported one tester. Another added, "These sheets are soft but crisp. They make my bed feel like I'm sleeping in a five-star hotel."
In Lab tests, we found the material to be pill-resistant; the material showed no pills after 1,000 rubs using our abrasion machine. Out of the dryer, the material was wrinkly compared to other percale sheets. This sheet set earned the esteemed Good Housekeeping Seal (meaning we stand behind it with our limited warranty).

Brooklinen Heathered Cashmere Sheets Review
For your ultimate luxuriously cozy bed, these sheets have added cashmere for a super soft feel. The fabric has a chic heathered design and a brushed texture, which helps trap in heat, ideal for cold sleepers. Testers gave these sheets high marks for softness, loving the cozy feel and added warmth. In the Lab, these sheets did not hold up as well during our testing, showing extensive pilling (which is common for brushed sheets) and lower fabric strength. Added cashmere is unique in sheets, but our pros note that these sheets are only 5% cashmere and 95% cotton.
Who should try Brooklinen Heathered Cashmere Sheets:
✔️ Those in cold climates. The brushed fabric helps trap heat for a cozy bed that'll keep you warm in colder weather
✔️ Cashmere lovers. Not every brand offers cashmere sheets, so this is a unique purchase.
Take note:
✔️ These sheets only include 5% cashmere, so they are not 100% cashmere as the name may imply.
✔️ This fabrication is the most expensive out of all the Brooklinen Core sheet sets.

Brooklinen Policies and FAQs to Know Before Buying
✔️ Shipping: Brooklinen offers free ground shipping on all orders within the U.S.
✔️ Sleep trial: You have the option to try most Brooklinen products for a 365-day trial period before deciding if you want to keep them. Within the trial period, you can return the item for any reason for a full refund or store credit. Note that items listed as "Final Sale" or "Last Call" are not eligible for return. We recommend looking for trial periods and any-reason return policies like Brooklinen's instead of warranties as most warranties actually only cover product defects.
