This year the event is returning between the 20-24 May for its wonderful floral extravaganza. With its return, we will see annual show gardens, as well as competitions among balcony and container gardens, Plant of the Year and Floristry and Floral Design.

Excitingly, Monty Don will be collaborating on his own garden design for the first time, with the Radio 2 Dog Garden. Fans of the presenter will know that he often appears on camera with his own furry friends, and this garden will be a pet-friendly plants including daisies, dandelions and clover. These should help mitigate drought, provide pollen for wildlife and strengthen the lawn's hardiness so it's tough enough for pets to play on.

"Monty wants the garden to be both an exemplar of all the things that dogs love, regardless of horticultural fashion, and a beautiful space that any dog owner would love too," says the RHS.

This year, each of the 16 show gardens will address environmental issues including sustainability, diminishing wildlife and climate change with solution-led designs. The gardens are still expected to be beautiful, but with a real-world relevance for today.
