When it comes to ageing gracefully, our new icon has to be Jerry Hall. The model, actress and mother of four is known for her outspoken attitude, and in a new, refreshingly honest interview with the Radio Times, she has stated that some women are being ‘weak’ when it comes to the ageing process.

Speaking to the magazine, the 59 year old believes that more women should embrace getting older, stating, ‘so many women are being weak about ageing. I find it annoying’.

‘It's ridiculous to imagine you can stay young for ever and live for ever. It's taking away from young people. There's a beauty and respect in age. Magazines and media are disrespectful of age’, she continued.

And how does she maintain her natural good looks? She credits simple things such as laughing, yoga, exercise and not living with regret, continuing to state that she would ‘never in a million years’ consider having surgery, being opposed to cosmetic surgery procedures such as facelifts and Botox.

‘It’s so idiotic when they [women] risk their lives to have surgery," she told Hello! magazine last year.

‘Every time you have anesthesia, you're killing a lot of brain cells — why would you do that? You could get infections, you could die.’
