How to Read Jodi Thomas' 'Ransom Canyon' Books in Order Before the Netflix Show Drops

Before we meet Staten, Quinn and all the other characters that make up the Ransom Canyon world, we must go back to the beginning of Staten's life.

This story sees the main character stepping into role as leader of his family ranch — and how his grandfather's legacy is embedded within him amid an era of massive change.

While he deals with tragedy he never saw coming, he runs into the beautiful yet reclusive Quinn O'Grady. Turns out she has her own secrets — and she's not the only one afraid of her world crashing down around her.

As the series focuses on many players in Ransom Canyon, this book follows three strangers looking to risk everything they have for love and glory.

In other storylines, Lauren's dad Dan Brigman stumbles upon Brandi Malone, who is lost in life after losing her daughter. While Brandi is alright with drifting through different towns, meeting Dan may just incline her to put down roots she wasn't expecting to.
