Molton Brown is something of a great British institution. Steeped in a heritage that dates back to 1971, it's a glowing example of a brand that just gets it right. Spot one of its hand washes or shower gels in someone's bathroom, and you know you're keeping good company.
Attention is often skewed toward the brand's divine bath and body collection, as well as their more recently added hair and fragrance, but here at GH we are also big fans of their home candles and diffusers. The best part? They are also available in the same scents as your favourite shower gels and hand washes.
So beautiful are the blends that having the decadent smells from various forms feels like a win. From bath to candle or reed diffuser; as any Molton Brown regular knows all too well, the scents anything but ordinary. The iconic Re-Charge Black Pepper, for example, was created by master perfumer Jacques Chabert, for instance (the 'nose' behind many other brilliant, premium perfumes, like Tom Daxon's Iridium 71%).

A royal favourite, it's said that there is an Orange and Bergamot hand soap dotted in each bathroom of Balmoral. It's easy to see the appeal: this candle is tart and citrusy (think slices of freshly cut lemon and orange fruit), but it's also decidedly unisex. One of the newer scents in the Molton Brown fragrance family, Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel smells like an open air shower by the sea. It's fresh and aquatic, but balanced with a soft, warm musk to make it that little more mellow.

Perhaps Molton Brown's most iconic scent, Black Pepper now comes in a candle form. This definitely veers on the more traditionally masculine end of the spectrum, but fragrance has no gender, so light and gift this irrespectively. A crack (or a few!) of black pepper to tingle the nose, combined with a sexy moss and vetiver base, means this scent is one that is confident, bold and one you'll want to keep close.
