Dame Joanna Lumley was looking absolutely fabulous as she attended Chelsea Flower Show's preview day on Monday (19 May) in a bold look channelling the 1960s. For the occasion, Dame Joanna chose a vibrant orange tunic top over a pair of trousers, as an alternative to the classic floral midi dresses popular at the event.
The textured fabric and multi-coloured paisley print gave a 1960s feel to her look, but Dame Joanna kept it feeling modern and sophisticated with an elegant white coat and matching trousers. The Ab Fab star regularly attends the annual Chelsea Flower Show event and was snapped this year outside The King's Trust garden with two Chelsea Pensioners in their traditional red uniforms. She also posed next to 'The Chelsea Punk' - a mohican made of pampas grass - showcasing her trademark humour.
Arriving at last year's event in 2024, Dame Joanna looked effortlessly chic in a stylishly laid back ensemble. She opted for a smart taupe ensemble consisting of a pair of flattering wide-leg trousers and a slouchy matching top. The star completed her look with a stylish long patterned jacket and added a pop of colour with a statement blue fedora hat.
Then, Dame Joanna Lumley, Prince's Trust Ambassador, met with award-winning garden designer Baz Grainger as she visited the 'Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees' garden. The design is described as a 'scented, immersive haven' created for families to relax, unwind and spend time together. Dame Joanna was also seen with celebrity friends Dame Prue Leith and Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur Marcus Wareing.
Elsewhere at the show this year, Mary Berry stepped out in a pink button-up dress featuring a soft floral print and a smattering of diamantés, for a sparkling twist. Jennifer Saunders, Cate Blanchett, Felicity Kendall and many more stars were also out in force for the 2025 show.
The Chelsea Flower Show is open to RHS members and the public between 20 and 24 May 2025. The show kicked off with a press preview day on Monday 19 May. Find out everything you need to know about this year's event in our Chelsea Flower Show guide.
