The Easter long weekend is almost here! And if Tesco is your go-to supermarket, you'll want to know exactly what hours they'll be open so you don't get stuck without ingredients, plenty of Easter eggs and drinks for your weekend.
Expect relatively good weather across the whole of the UK, with parts being mostly dry (some rain expected in the North-West) and generally a light cloud cover across the whole bank holiday weekend. Temperatures will reach up to 18C for those in south-eastern England, so don't forget your SPF if you're heading outdoors.
The opening times of your local Tesco depends on whether it’s a Superstore, Metro or Express store so read on below to find out everything you need to know about Tesco's store opening hours:
Good Friday - 18/04/2025:
The majority of large Tesco stores across England, Wales and the Isle of Man will be open from 6am - 10pm. All large stores in Scotland and Northern Ireland will trade their normal hours.
There are no changes to opening hours for Express stores.
Easter Saturday - 19/04/2025:
All Tesco stores will trade their normal hours on Easter Saturday.
Larger superstores are typically open 24-hours a day, with smaller stores like metro and express stores typically open from 6/7am until 10/11pm.
This is typically the busiest day to visit the supermarket, with people doing a last minute dash to the shops or buy things they've forgotten so avoid visiting during the hours between 10am - 1pm if you don't like big crowds.
Easter Sunday - 20/04/2025:
All larger Tesco superstores (which are larger than 280 square metres) will be closed on Easter Sunday due to the restrictions of the Sunday trading laws in the UK.
But, any smaller express shops (under 280 square metres) have no restrictions and can operate their usual opening hours.
Easter Monday - 21/04/2025:
Most large Tesco stores across England, Wales & Isle of Man will be open from 8am - 6pm. The majority of the larger Northern Ireland stores will be open from 10am - 8pm. All large stores in Scotland will be open from 8am to 10pm. The majority of the large Express stores will be open from 8am - 6pm.
There are no changes for express stores, they are open as normal.
