Dolly Parton is adding another book to her already impressive catalog — and it's one fans young and old are going to love.
On April 29, the country music legend clued fans in to a major project she's been working on. Sharing the news of her latest career venture on Instagram, Dolly announced she'd written another children's book featuring her god-dog Billy the Kid. Titled Billy the Kid Dances His Heart Out, Dolly also revealed folks can already pre-order the book online ahead of it debuting on bookshelves on December 2, 2025. But that's not all — Dolly also shared on her website she'll be releasing a new single titled "Bella" in tandem with the book's release.
"My new children’s book, ‘Billy The Kid Dances His Heart Out,’ starring my god-dog @btkthefrenchie, will be available December 2nd. 🐾✨ ," she excitedly wrote in the caption alongside the announcement. "Pre-order now through the link in my bio!"
Given how fans love anything Dolly chooses to work on, seeing her latest development in the children's literary space had folks absolutely elated for her.
"This looks so cute!! We can’t wait to read it! 😍😍😍," one person wrote in the comments. "Yay we are so excited to add this one to our collection!! We love Billy the Kid books!! Keep them coming!! 💖," another exclaimed. "Can’t wait! 👏🙌," a different follower added.
Dolly first introduced fans to Billy the Kid when she released her first children's book (titled Billy the Kid Makes It Big) back in April 2023. The second title in the series, Billy the Kid Comes Home for Christmas, debuted in October 2024. So Dolly's upcoming children's book will be the third in what is clearly a well-loved franchise for kids and adults alike.

According to the description on the publisher's website, the book will follow the beloved French bulldog as he faces a fear no one knows about: dancing in front of an audience. As he prepares to star in an exciting dance party with his human godmother, Billy decides to take dancing lessons from a beautiful dog named Bella. But will his love for Bella cause a snag in his hopes and dreams to be with Dolly at her big event?
