Charlotte Tilbury has worked with so many stars you’d need a NASA telescope to keep up, but there’s one famous muse who shines brighter than anyone else. We mean, of course, Kate Moss – Charlotte’s original ’90s icon and the woman who defined her iconic nude lip glam.
Kate is synonymous with Tilbury’s classic Pillow Talk nude lip, and now Charlotte has circled back to her early days with Moss for a 2025 re-spin of their legendary 90s lippie look. Charlotte has dug into her archives to create a ‘shapewear for lips’ system, which recreates Kate’s pouty look on, well, anyone’s face.
While the professional version doubtless involved hours of artful blending and contouring, the civilian option is all about faking it. First, there’s a new double-ended Lip Cheat Contour Duo Liner, with a nude Fill shade to colour in the lips and a slightly darker Sculpt liner to create the illusion of instantly plumper lips. (If you remember the old shadow-play shading trick from school art class, you’ll get the idea.)
You can then give yourself an even fatter lip with Big Lip Plumpgasm in Nudegasm Diamonds, a paler, twinkly new version of Charlotte’s best-selling plumping lipgloss. (Read our review of that here). It's all part of a new Super Nudes collection, bringing together Tilbury's classic neutral shades plus her roster of supermodels. Super + Nudes, geddit?
Charlotte Tilbury’s Super Nude lip plumpers
Our verdict
‘Kate Moss lips’ can be slightly ambitious ask if you don’t happen to be a supermodel. Which, last time I checked, I wasn’t. However, if anyone’s going to get me slightly closer to catwalk ready, it’s Charlotte Tilbury.
I initially checked out her new Super Nudes collection at the brand’s new flagship in London’s Covent Garden, just a short wiggle, strut and turn from Good Housekeeping’s office. Goodness, it’s the most ridiculously glamorous beauty store I’ve ever been in, from the Skin Spa (Magic Cream facial, anyone?) to the plush, rose-tinted Pillow Talk play room. As Charlotte herself might say: ‘DARLINGS, it’s GORGEOUS!’
I was ushered downstairs to the Old Hollywood-esque beauty boudoir, where the brand holds its masterclasses and makeovers. I entered, fully intending to have only a Super Nudes lip demo from one of the pro team’s MUAs, but before I knew it, I’d surrendered to the full Tilbury glam-up, with gleamy cheek contour, bronzing a-plenty, smoked-out eyes and lashings of full-fat mascara.
I even said yes to a slightly overlined lips option, which I’d never attempt myself, but hey, when on Planet Tilbury... The overall effect was full-on, full-lipped and fabulous, although perhaps a tad much for the GH morning conference afterwards!
Back in the real world, I attempted the Kate Moss lip in the comfort of my own bedroom, toning it down with the liner confined to the boundaries set by Mother Nature.
It still packed a visual plump thanks to the sculpting fakery, and the Plumpgasm gloss inflated matters further with its curious, cool-yet-hot sensation.
Overall, I probably prefer the slightly darker iteration of Pillow Talk Plumpgasm compared to this paler, sparkly 90s shade (the original gloss comes in two deeper tones) but I can’t deny it ticks the ‘shapewear’ box. Last time I looked this pouty, there had probably been a needle and lip fillers involved!
Also, I should note that lips aren’t the only facial feature being carved out and contoured by Tilbury’s shapewear approach. The Super Nudes collection also includes sculpting options inspired by Charlotte’s other ’90s catwalk classics, including Cindy Crawford’s sultry eyes (Super Nudes Easy Eye Palette) and Naomi Campbell’s insanely symmetrical cheekbones (Glowgasm Face Palette in Nudegasm). Not too much to aim for, right..?
