Is it just us, or is there something strangely satisfying about watching rich people behaving badly? If you’re part of the same club (no shame here), you’ll be pleased to hear that Netflix is bringing us a brilliant new TV series about exactly that. Julianne Moore is starring in the streamer’s upcoming Palm Royale-esque drama, otherwise known as Sirens - and if there's a show to get hooked on, it's this one.

Described as an "incisive, sexy, and darkly funny exploration of women, power and class," the female-driven dark comedy takes place over the course of a weekend at a luxury beach estate. Devon (Meghann Fahy) is suspicious of her sister Simone’s (Milly Alcock) strange relationship with her new employer – so suspicious in fact that she decides to track her down. Cue an "explosive" weekend with the filthy rich.

Whether you've been missing your fix of Apple TV+'s Palm Royale, or are simply looking for a new binge-worthy show to watch, here’s everything you need to know about the new series, which is arriving on our screens this week…

What is Sirens about?

The female-driven series will follow Devon (played Meghann Fahy, pictured below in The Perfect Couple), who has concerns about her sister Simone’s (Milly Alcock) "creepy" relationship with her new employer, the mysterious philanthropist and animal activist Michaela Kell (Julianne Moore) who runs island high society. Simone thinks she’s hit the jackpot working as a personal assistant to a billionaire – but for Devon, their relationship seems simply too close for comfort.

According to the official synopsis, "Michaela’s cultish, ultra-luxurious lifestyle is like a drug to Simone, and Devon thinks it’s time for an intervention." But when Devon tracks her sister down to get to the bottom of what’s going on, she underestimates what the consequences might be of being Michaela’s enemy.

The series is told over the course of a drama-filled weekend at the Kells’ lavish beach estate and we’ll also be introduced to the likes of Kevin Bacon as Peter Kell, who comes from an old-money family and is the highest-status person in every room he enters, as well as Glenn Howerton as Ethan Corbin II, his lifelong bachelor friend who lives next door and is a regular at the yacht club.

Something tell us this is going to be a lot of fun…
