What is Task about?

The Sky exclusive drama stars Mark Ruffalo as an FBI agent in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, as he assembles a Task Force to put an end to a series of violent, well-coordinated robberies. Things take a morally complex turn, however, when the team discovers the heists are being orchestrated by an unsuspecting family man (played by Tom Pelphrey). The question is, how far should justice go when desperation meets circumstance?

Sky has released a new trailer for the seven-part series and it looks set to be pretty gritty and potentially quite emotional, too. The teaser, which is full of heart-pumping moments, sees Martha Plimpton’s character tell Mark Ruffalo’s anguished FBI agent, "We need you out on the field… at least 9 houses have been hit", before switching to scenes of the family man who finds himself pushed to the brink.

The show comes from the same creators as Sky's Mare of Easttown, which starred Kate Winslet and proved a huge hit with audiences. Naturally, there's a lot of hype around it given the strong cast and compelling storyline, and it's already being billed as the show of the year. Will it live up to expectations? Let's just say we have a very good feeling about it!
