The best sleep gadgets to help you drift off, according to a panel of poor sleepers
Tired of being tired? Our tried-and-tested edit will help you on your way to a good night’s sleep

On a quest for a better night’s rest? You’re not alone. Good Housekeeping conducted a sleep survey that generated over 1,700 responses and found that a whopping 79% of readers struggle with the quality of their kip. In fact, 84% of people would choose a good night’s rest over an orgasm, and only 15% feel as though they get sufficient sleep. Yikes.
From the best mattress and pillow sprays to sleep teas and trackers, 72% of respondents told us they'd tried sleep-enhancing products to help them catch more Zs. But with so many sleep aids out there, all promising sweeter dreams, how do you know which ones are actually worth the investment?
That’s where the Good Housekeeping Institute comes in. We donned our fluffiest dressing gowns and got to work trialling the best sleep gadgets on the market, including the best mattress toppers, the best eye masks, the best sunrise alarm clocks and more, to see which ones helped us nod off.
The best sleep gadgets for 2025
Whether you’re struggling to switch off due to stress or your sleep environment is too noisy, here are the products that can help banish restless nights for good, but keep scrolling for our detailed reviews.
Are sleep gadgets worth it?
Sleep aids can be helpful when used appropriately, but they’re extremely personal, so it’s important to find something that meets your individual needs. What works for one person may not suit another.
Ear plugs can be useful for those who live on a busy main road, while an eye mask can be a good choice if your bedroom is too bright, and if you enjoy the sensation of a heavy throw or thick, crisp hotel duvet, the best weighted blankets could help you unwind before bed.
Wearable tech, meanwhile, can help you understand your body better and develop healthier bedtime habits, although some may find it can add to their sleep anxiety. Alternatively, soothing meditation tools can do wonders if you have trouble nodding off amid the stresses and worries of everyday life.
Essential oils are great for creating a zen, spa-like sanctuary at home, and then there are smart lighting products, which can totally transform your wind-down and wake-up routines.
In short, yes, sleep-enhancing products are worth it, but only if they work for you and are easy to integrate into your routine.
