With a fresh new year must come a fresh new mani (if you’re on the GH beauty team, at least). And now that the holiday glitz is gone, but it's far too early for the spring pastels, all roads lead to something clean, minimalistic and subtle for January.

While French tips are the go-to for a natural look, there’s a new trend on our radar that puts a sweeter spin on the much-loved classic. Dubbed the “ice cream” manicure, it's an ultra-glossy ombré with a barely-there strawberry pink base blended up into a clean white tip. The key? As much shine as you can manage.

Already, some of our favourite celebs have got the memo for this month’s mani, such as Rochelle Humes, who has been acing these gorgeous Frenchies with the help of celebrity nail technician Harriet Westmoreland. Harriet’s expert handiwork shows a flattering combination of a rounded square or ‘squoval’ shape, and beautifully prepped cuticles. The resulting look is elegant, sheer and the perfect reference photo to take to your next nail appointment.
