How does your hair look in your holiday snaps? For most people, there’s a strong chance of it being photobombed by frizz, sea salt tangles, suncream streaks or chlorinated crispiness. But not for Penny Lancaster.
A goddess among mere mortals, the model and TV presenter has somehow lived up to the glossy brochure version of sun-kissed strands and beautiful, beachy waves on her romantic Italian getaway with husband, Rod Stewart. (And to be honest, Rod’s barnet looks nicely groomed as well.)
Penny captions the photo: ‘So appreciative the opportunities we get to spend quality time together in our busy lives.’
The pair have been enjoying a well deserved mini-break to Lake Como during Rod’s world tour, and Penny’s hair looked impossibly well behaved in holiday photos shared to her Instagram. Despite posing in a boat on the shores of the lake, there was no hint of a wind-blown ruffle as she snuggled up to Sir Rod.
Instead, her blonde hair falls in glamorous, sunlit waves and looks improbably voluminous. Oh, the hair envy. Her famous friends were quick to weigh in with the compliments, with Myleene Klass writing: ‘Stunning ❤️❤️❤️’, Gabby Logan adding ‘You look knock out’ and Lisa Snowdon posting ‘Gorgeous pic! ❤️🔥❤️’
Rod’s singer daughter Ruby echoed our first thoughts on Penny’s perfect holiday mane as she told her step-mum: ‘The hair is just 🦁🦁’
However, the apparently perfect romantic snap may not make the mantelpiece at Sir Rod and Lady Penny’s home. Poor Rod has suffered an unintentional photo fail, and it’s one you just can’t unsee.
Penny has hooked her leg over her husband’s, and because both of them are wearing black trousers, it creates the comical illusion of Rod wearing one stiletto. As one tickled fan noted: ‘Had to look twice there 😂 great set of ankles Rod has, I thought 😂’

Even one of Rod’s sons jumped in with some gentle trolling of his father’s (actual) feet. ‘Dads adidas socks are perfect’ noted Liam, Rod’s second eldest son, from his marriage to Rachel Hunter.
