It’s official! Lily Collins has landed in Rome and production for the upcoming season of Emily In Paris is underway. And anticipation is already high, especially after Lily Collins shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Emily Cooper’s new look. We’ll give you a hint: it appears Emily is set to trade in her long locks for Lily’s shortest bob yet.
If you’re familiar with the show, you’ll know the character isn’t new to drastic hair transformations. You might recall her infamous ‘trauma bangs’, a stress-induced DIY attempt at a new look (we’ve all been there). While the bob may be new territory for Emily, Lily has been a major source of our short-hair envy since June when she first debuted her blunt bob on the red carpet.
In the photo shared to Instagram, Lily looks incredibly chic as she sits on a Vespa scooter in sunny Rome. Perhaps she’s taking inspiration from the ‘Dolce vita’ bob trend for her new Italian adventure? Or could it be a heartbreak hair cut? We’ll have to wait and see...
Either way, she’s showing off her shortest bob yet, which is poker-straight and cut just above her chin. The new hairstyle is paired with a subtle smokey eye for the ultimate in French-Girl elegance. You can take the girl out of Paris… (PS: don’t worry, filming does return to the American ex-pat’s spiritual second home later in the production.)
It’s safe to say that Emily’s new look has quickly stolen the spotlight and fans are already obsessing over it. One fan commented: ‘Looking gorgeous! Love the hair’, while another posted: ‘This fit looks so good on Emily! Short hair suits Lily so much!’ – and we definitely agree, this haircut is particularly flattering on those with heart-shaped faces, like Lily.
We have to admit, nobody tempts us more than Lily to go for the big chop – we’re already bookmarking the Instagram post for our next trip to the salon!
