Hold on tight - a surprise new Harlan Coben crime thriller has arrived on Netflix and it’s not for the faint-hearted. Based on Coben’s 2010 novel, Catch, the brilliantly gripping story centres around a missing teenager and a journalist who will stop at nothing to discover the truth – and be warned, it’s a hair-raising ride.
Packed with all the twists that Coben is known for, the series marks a milestone for the author as it’s his very first Latin American adaptation, and was filmed in Patagonia, Argentina. The spine-tingly trailer reveals a predator on the loose in the streets of the streets of the Argentinian city of Bariloche – but little does he know, investigative journalist Ema Garay (Villamil) is on a mission to track him down.

What is Caught about?
As we mentioned, the new six-part series is the first Latin American adaptation of Harlan Coben’s work and it’s filmed against the backdrop of Patagonia, Argentina (the scenery alone is pretty breathtaking!). Based on Coben’s bestselling 2010 novel, Caught, the thriller centres around journalist Ema Garay (Soledad Villamil) who has risen to prominence in the industry by exposing criminals - specifically sexual predators - who manage to evade the law and bringing them to justice.
Her life takes an unexpected turn, however, when she meets Leo Mercer (Juan Minujín), a respected community figure who becomes the prime suspect in her investigation into the disappearance of a 16-year-old girl. As she searches for the truth, Ema’s investigation unravels a web of interconnected mysteries and suspects. The question is: can she trust her own instincts - or the motives of those around her? And is it worth risking everything to track down this predator?
If you haven’t read the book, you won’t find any spoilers here, but we can tell you that in true Coben style, it’s a fantastically twisty and utterly thrilling story. And, given that Coben is serving as executive producer (as he does on all his TV adaptations), we’ve got absolutely no doubt that the Netflix version will be just as mind-bogglingly brilliant.

Are there more Harlan Coben adaptations on the way?
Yes! We're very pleased to say that an adaptation of Coben's 2019 novel, Run Away, is currently in the works. The series, which follows a dad trying to find his daughter who he lost to drugs and an abusive man, will star James Nesbitt, Ruth Jones and Minnie Driver. Netflix hasn't yet shared an official release date for it, but we're expecting it to air in early 2026.
